Wannabe babes are Gold Spice

I’VE had a look at the SPICE GIRLS’ latest accounts – and they reveal why the girls Wannabe back together.

Ginger Spice GERI HALLIWELL paid herself around £250,000 before closing down her company Wonderful Productions in October.


Not a bad pay packet, I admit — but still a fraction of the £6.2MILLION they each earned in a single year during their heyday.

And with new mum Geri’s expensive lifestyle, she wouldn’t get much change from a £250,000 salary.

The move to shut down the company mirrors what the TAKE THAT boys did before embarking on their mega-successful comeback.

The lads owned a string of businesses between them before the return but closed them down and set up a new company for their reunion.

The girls are now likely to do the same — and bank the profits from their venture in an all-new, joint company.

Meanwhile, Scary Spice MEL B’s latest accounts make worrying reading.

The figures show her company, Money-spider Productions, lost £5,000 last year — and was worth just £12,000.

The numbers also show she did not make a penny from the Spice Girls last year.

Still, she’ll be quids in if comic EDDIE MURPHY finally coughs up to fathering her baby daughter, Angel.

All five girls are set for a bumper pay-day thanks to the reunion later this year.

My source said: “Obviously the girls aren’t doing too badly as things stand, but the money won’t last for ever and some of them need to cash in while they still can.

“All of them have agreed to do it — they are just waiting for the deals to be sorted around the world.

“SIMON FULLER is masterminding the comeback and they have even hired a top publicist to help them.

“They want it to be massive — bigger than Take That.

“The Spice Girls were huge worldwide and they want the reunion to reflect that.

“But it is fair to say some of them need it rather more than others.”

Last month, four of the five met up in London to discuss their comeback plans.

Geri and Baby Spice EMMA BUNTON were later spotted emerging from a Brighton studio, sparking rumours of a group bid for this year’s Xmas No1.

The girls have also been offered £1million each to perform a one-off Las Vegas-style show this winter.

Sporty Spice MEL C had previously been reluctant to get back with her old bandmates.

She has achieved reasonable solo success abroad and her company accounts are in better shape — but she has come round to the idea.

Emma’s company, Monsta Productions, made £139,324 in 2005 — but she’s still excited by a comeback.

The girls each pocketed a fortune from their time in the group before the split.

But I’m sure they don’t all need the comeback cash.

Posh Spice VICTORIA BECKHAM’s Moody Productions actually lost £80,000 in 2005 — the last available figures.

Not that she cares. Hubby DAVID’s £128million LA Galaxy contract should keep her ticking over.
