DRESS to impress the style crowd? Pants to that, says Britney.
Whether partying with pals or shopping with son Sean Preston, the troubled star looks back to her pre-rehab trashy best.
She’s worn tiny tops and torn fishnets with the skimpiest of hot pants, and even stripped to a bikini for a Miami party last week.
Things weren’t always this bad though. Blink and you’d miss it but Brit ditched the trailer park chic when she first left rehab.
After a month at the Promises Malibu Treatment Centre, Britney emerged in late March wearing subtle sundresses, jeans, cardigans and even a full-length cover-all coat.
Sources say she cleaned up her act to avoid losing custody of her kids and it seemed the flaunt-athon was finally over.
But old habits die hard and she went back to her saucy style. Now it seems only a matter of time before the dreaded lady garden gets flashed again.
So what went wrong? Psychologist Dr Alastair Ross explains: “This temporary style in March and April seems to have gone hand in hand with a period of psychological change.
“More formal styles usually signify reliability and trustworthiness, as opposed to the irresponsible connotations that go with blatantly revealing clothes.
“It’s also possible that her ‘normal’ clothes showed humility – she didn’t want to stand out and took a step back from projecting confidence through her clothes, which others perceive as arrogance.
“This could easily have been a subtle reaction to some of the changes she would discuss and go through in therapy or rehab.”
“Baggy clothes and clothes that cover up our bodies can go hand in hand with shame or negative self-image, while tighter clothing shows a proud, positive frame of mind.
"But the problem with the revealing style is that it flips easily from confident, sexy and playful to trashy and cheap.
"As Britney’s star faded a little she maybe felt this tide turning – what once symbolised the bubbly pop princess started to feel a bit desperate when worn on someone with substance misuse issues, failed relationships etc."
So if that's the case, why is she back in the flesh-flashing offenders?
"Now, post-rehab, Britney probably feels redemption is possible and it’s time to claim her confidence back and wear the type of clothes that say “I like me and I don’t care what you think”.
Let's hope so. Now click on the images above to see the Britney style rollercoaster in detail.
